What it signalsWhen do your daily budget and monthly budget drift apart?
In Google Ads you set a daily budget per campaign. AdBuilder additionally steers by a monthly budget: the amount you want to spend per month. This recommendation checked whether the two still matched up. It converts your daily budget to a monthly budget and compares that with the monthly cap you'd set yourself.
A deviation can go either way. If it's over, your active campaigns together could spend more per month than your monthly budget allows. If it's the reverse, your campaigns could spend at most less than you'd set, meaning your monthly budget is set too high.
Why it mattersWhy an accurate monthly budget matters
AdBuilder uses your monthly budget as the benchmark for nearly all budget and growth advice. If that amount is set too high, the tool thinks there's room left and advises too generously: extra daily budget or more aggressive growth you don't actually want. If it's set too low, you miss opportunities because AdBuilder unnecessarily holds back.
If the sum of your daily budgets is higher than your monthly budget, you also risk overspending: your campaigns together could spend more than you intended. Keeping your daily budget and monthly budget aligned ensures every follow-up recommendation about your Google Ads budget is based on the right numbers.
How it worksHow AdBuilder calculates and aligns your budget
AdBuilder pulls the daily budgets of all your enabled campaigns, including ones without recent traffic. Campaigns sharing a budget only count once. That total daily budget is multiplied by 30.4 (the average number of days per month) into a monthly amount in your account currency. That's exactly what calculating your Google Ads monthly budget means in practice.
It then calculates the deviation from your set monthly budget. The signal only fired at a deviation of at least 15% combined with a difference of at least 25 euro per month. Smaller differences were treated as noise, so you wouldn't get an alert over a few euros.
If you had auto-sync turned on, AdBuilder didn't give a recommendation but immediately aligned your monthly budget with the derived amount. That automatic behavior has since become the default: AdBuilder now re-derives your monthly budget from your live daily budgets on every analysis. So there's nothing left to align manually, and the separate recommendation has been retired.
- Only enabled campaigns count; campaigns sharing a budget count once.
- Daily budget x 30.4 = the monthly amount your campaigns can spend at most.
- Threshold: only from 15% deviation and at least a 25 euro difference per month.
- With auto-sync on, your monthly budget was aligned immediately, without a recommendation.
What you can doWhat you used to be able to choose, and what now happens automatically
Back when this was still a separate recommendation, you got to choose what was adjusted. The default choice was aligning your AdBuilder monthly budget with the derived amount (adjustable to your own value). Alternatively, you left AdBuilder alone and adjusted the campaign daily budgets in Google Ads yourself, aligning your daily budget with your monthly budget from the other direction.
Neither choice wrote anything to Google Ads: the action only touched the monthly budget setting in AdBuilder. You could always undo it, since the previous value was saved. Nowadays you don't need to do anything here, since AdBuilder continuously derives your monthly budget from your live daily budgets.
- Adjust the monthly budget to the derived amount (default choice, adjustable).
- Change nothing in AdBuilder and adjust the campaign daily budgets in Google Ads yourself.
- Turn on auto-sync so the monthly budget moves along automatically.
- Undo: the previous monthly budget value was saved and restored.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert my daily budget into a monthly budget?
Multiply the daily budget by 30.4, the average number of days per month. AdBuilder adds up the daily budgets of all your active campaigns, deduplicates shared budgets, and converts that total x 30.4 into a monthly amount.
From what difference did I get an alert?
Only from a 15% deviation between your set monthly budget and the derived Google Ads amount, combined with a difference of at least 25 euro per month. Smaller differences were treated as noise.
Does this change anything in my Google Ads account?
No. The action only adjusted the monthly budget you'd set in AdBuilder, or left you to adjust the campaign budgets in Google Ads yourself. Nothing was pushed to Google Ads automatically.
Why don't I see this recommendation anymore?
AdBuilder now automatically derives your monthly budget from your live daily budgets and keeps it continuously in sync. So there's nothing left to align manually, and this recommendation no longer appears separately.
