Connecting your Google Ads account

In this article: how you connect your Google Ads account via Google consent, how manager accounts and multiple accounts work, and how you disconnect or reconnect.

ConnectingConnect via Google

Connecting happens through a Google consent screen (OAuth). AdBuilder asks for exactly one permission: access to your Google Ads account, with offline access so it can publish on your behalf when you want it to. You confirm this in Google’s own screen. Creating a Google Ads account is free; you need it in order to publish.

  • Go to Accounts.
  • Click Connect Google Ads.
  • Sign in with Google and grant permission in Google’s screen.
  • Then choose the Google Ads account you want to use.

Manager accountsMCC is supported

If you work with a manager account (MCC), that is supported. AdBuilder also shows the client accounts that fall under the manager account, so you can choose the right one. What a manager account is exactly is explained in the Glossary.

Multiple accountsSwitching between accounts

You can connect multiple Google Ads accounts. Via the Accounts page ("Manage all accounts") you switch between those accounts. Each account keeps its own structure, keywords and history, so you never mix up context.

DisconnectingBreaking the connection

If you want to disconnect an account, you do that through the settings. The connection is broken and your access credentials are deleted. If the connection expires or fails at a later point, AdBuilder asks you to connect again (reconnect).

TroubleshootingWhen your site cannot be read

When building, AdBuilder only crawls public pages. Login and account pages are skipped. If your site is behind a login or a firewall (Cloudflare or similar) blocks the crawler, the wizard reports that the page could not be read. In that case, provide extra context or enter a different URL.
