Short answerSmall differences are normal
Do you see a slightly different number in AdBuilder than in Google Ads? That happens and it usually does not mean something is broken. AdBuilder and Google Ads count at slightly different moments and in a slightly different way. Below is where the differences come from and what you do about it.
SynchronizationSaved daily numbers, not real-time
AdBuilder shows saved daily numbers that are synced periodically. So it is not a live meter that moves along every second. Between two synchronizations, Google Ads may already be a bit further along. Refresh your dashboard to fetch the numbers again, and they line up again.
ConversionsThe last few days come in later
Conversions often come in with a delay. Someone clicks today and only converts a few days later. For judgments about conversions, AdBuilder therefore leaves the last few days out of consideration, so you do not steer on numbers that are not yet complete.
On top of that, Google Ads counts a conversion back to the day of the click, not to the day of the conversion itself. Numbers from yesterday can therefore still rise later. In a day comparison that can shift the picture.
Period and settingsCompare the same thing
Your period, time zone and attribution setting also play a role. A dashboard set to a different day layout, time zone or attribution model simply counts different clicks and conversions. If you compare AdBuilder with Google Ads, make sure you view exactly the same period and the same settings.
- Refresh your dashboard to fetch the latest numbers.
- Choose exactly the same period in both screens.
- Check that the time zone and attribution model are set the same.
- Only judge conversions once the last few days have caught up.
