Importing and managing existing campaigns

Bring in what you already run and manage everything from one shared editor.

ImportingBringing in your existing structure

AdBuilder can pull in your existing Google Ads campaigns, so that you manage both new and existing ones from one place. Connect your account and click Refresh in the account overview. The campaigns then come in at the campaign level: their name, type, budget and status.

For Search campaigns, AdBuilder also pulls in the layer below: the ad groups, the keywords and the ads. Campaigns that are already managed by AdBuilder are skipped during import, so you do not get duplicate versions.

Shared editorCollect changes and publish in one go

Imported campaigns and campaigns previously published by AdBuilder are edited in the same editor. It first fetches the current state, after which your changes collect in a change list. Via Publish you see a summary of everything you have adjusted and it goes live in one go, with a review beforehand and a history to undo steps.

Staying in syncWhen you also work in Google Ads

If you change something directly in Google Ads, you fetch the live state with fetch from Google Ads. AdBuilder then shows the difference and you choose whether to adopt the live state. Google Ads therefore only "wins" if you accept it; nothing is silently overwritten.

If you edit a value in AdBuilder that has meanwhile also changed in your account, AdBuilder warns you about that conflict instead of blindly overwriting your value. That way you stay in control of which version is the right one.

TroubleshootingA campaign is missing after importing

If you are missing a campaign in the overview, check whether you clicked Refresh after your account was connected. Campaigns that AdBuilder already manages do not appear again as an import; they are already among your existing campaigns.

For non-Search campaigns (such as Shopping or Performance Max), the underlying structure does not come along; those are pulled in at the campaign level. If you see a difference between AdBuilder and your account, use "fetch from Google Ads" to lay the live state alongside your own version.
